What it takes to be an online marketer

The aggressive world of online marketing seems to be getting more intense due to over competition. For every new product that comes out, there seems to be a mass amount of 10,000+ new member joining trying to obtain success in in industry that over promises on financial gain. Making the right business move for those who are just starting out is seeming less and less possible when every business promises you the same thing. Lack of research in also one of the many causes of the demise of new online marketer; and that good old saying keeps getting put to use "The game has changed, but the player are still the same". Point indented, if you allow yourself to be taken for a ride, you may just hit that old bumpy road called rock bottom, with this point being mentioned, you do not have to be that lost marketer who feel off the map. They got your money and now your quitting? Very likely with a non-marketable approach, you may very well find that it was not as difficult as you thought it was and all the answers were right in front of you. With this being said, I am going to point out some great resources you may or may not be using. Should you come up with the correct marketing approach, and leave behind your salesman pitch, soon you will be off into the land the the "We are making it" marketers. No accomplishment  is to far out of reach when you have motivation enough to make it, so win!!!

So you want to know what the game is?
That is simple when you understand the full history of marketing. Every empire is set up with one goal in place, to make money. When you have many different companies offering the same product or one which is similar to another, this can be referred to as a monopoly. As strange as it is to admit especially in the online marketing field, this is sadly true. There are marketers all over the internet pushing their products and it take the wise thinking marketers to gain the sales.
When you able to devise a smart marketing plan and execute it, you will begin to see changes in your sales, but I will get to that later. Having the right marketing plan requires adequate research, not only on your product, but on your competitors. You need to know how these people gained there success and if you are not able to fund your product correctly, then you have even more digging to do.
With a smart marketing plan comes an offer. People need a reason as to why they should roll with your product. Think of it this way, you are just starting out and people are not familiarized with you. Why should they but what you have? What approaches are you taking to get your product out there? Are you following up with prospective s?Are you gaining leads or letting them slip by? These are things you should be asking yourself and only then can you come up with a proper plan of marketing your product.
A strong point for any new marketer is having an appropriate platform. You may be able to promote a product my word of mouth, or even through paid advertising, however the most effective way to fill the bank would be to have a platform such as a blog or a website to gain more targeted traffic to your product.

Now that you know the game...The players should be a no brainer
When I refer to the players, I am referring to the go to guys when you need your product to gain exposure. Major players are Google,Yahoo,Bing, and then you have the major marketers; those who are well established and were able to branch off and build their own empires. Lastly we have common marketers, our doing good but not good enoughers, our just started out and figuring outers, and everyone else. Recognition of terms as far as the search engines are concerned is one common mistake that many make. Reason why being many online marketers focus on the ideology of fast money.  In case you have not yet noticed, the search engines are run on what I like to call a popularity contest. People who are able to pay for the front page will clearly get far more exposure that one who is not. One other thing to be conscious of is the power of your content. When you choose to promote a product,it is wise to do some research on that product. Write an article on the product while letting people know why this would be beneficial to them. Believe that if your content is not worth a bit, it will be lost somewhere in the bottom of the search engine barrel.

I will list a few of my favorite marketing strategies that have worked very well for me in my time marketing.
  1. Backpage.com> this site is a twin craigslist. When you are trying to gain leads, this would be a great place to start. Be mindful that this site does not allow business opportunities so when you are posting a n add be creative with your content or you will be blocked.
  2. Craigslist.com> many people use craigslist when posting marketing opportunities without thinking of the repercussions of doing so. Craigslist is a very strict site when it comes to work from home opportunities and quite frankly, the general public hates it. They majority of them will click on the link and see that it from a site that requires a credit card. Understand that this is the worst thing that you can do and it WILL slow up your leads. The most effective way to market on craigslist is by offering the service instead of promoting a job opportunity. Scam radars are on when viewers see a headline like "Now hiring work from home reps".
  3. Pingler.com> great place for getting blasts of traffic to your site. When signing up for pingler you may upgrade to a premium account and for 2.99 for one month (No reoccurring charges) You can store 25 URL'S into your account and pingler will automatically ping these for you every three days.
  4. Scribd.com> Getting you website in to the search engines faster, or having pages indexed quicker than they would if you left it to Google. This is also a free marketing tool and should be done constantly to gain maximum results.
